”Story of the Eye”, in homage to Georges Bataille, is the first opus of a long research about light, peace and liberty in sexual relations. From 1989, I choose to investigate values of sexual behaviours by the way of automatic drawings. In front of the sincerity of the graphic emergences of my unconscious, I try to neutralize any reasoned thought by all ways of trance, also using on complement the consumption of THC. Considering the trance sexual as only average release of the intrinsic strains, and largely accessible, I make a commitment radically in this direction as woman libertarian artist. My researches extend over the cerebral sexuality exclusively and the possibility of realization of fantasies, as valve of the unconscious. At the end of 1995, I created a concept of interactive installation-performance, a revolutionary peep show, because dis inhibiting a sexual practice inherent to its function, and considered as deviant. "Story of the Eye" is an ode to the visual pleasures of voyeurism and exhibitionism. Fascinated by the modes of exorcising trance in diverse cultures any merged periods, I trace the rules of prevention against the madness. In a protective structure, I develop a sexual dance, an evolutionary trance of roles suggested by the guests. It dissected the fantasies, transcend them, and gave them a wholesome moral and social value. The customs clearance of deviances as the dehumanization connected directly to the intellectual and visual sexuality, analysed as psychological diseases, result of infantile trauma was an optimistic success letting glimpse the other more audacious experiments
The interest was not to sanctify but to understand the intrinsic values, to justify them socially, and express healthily without criminalization. So, Story of the eye could slow down the progress of the other affectations due to the denial of fantasies, as the sexual hysteria, the depression, the multiple neurosis’s etc. but especially be a palliative to the medicinal substitutes and diverse drugs. système. For me, fantasies introspection result from dark anthropology. In fact, visit them goes back far in human history, that of all cruelties of all denials. Histooire de l'oeil, Story of the Eye, a peep-show installation performance, turns 2 years (1996-1997) in Europe bordering France, in public and heterogeneous places from libertines clubs to festivals. Annie LAM proposed an inter-active work focusing on an atmosphere of intimacy, trust and gift exchange, ecstatic emanations, where sincerity exceeds taboos. In a transparent cube, performers dance an erotic transe. Twenty viewer around, separating by lightweight walls, kind of confessionals are relaxed yet attentive.
Protected by their legitimate situation , they can see each other with complicity and watch some unmentionable desires danced before them with a irrel lightness .
